1. Introduction
Music Tag Editor is a powerful, user-friendly application
designed to help you organize your music library by editing ID3 tags
in MP3 files. With Music Tag Editor, you can modify titles, artists,
and album information for individual files or in bulk, translate
titles between languages, and extract title information from filenames.

2. Installation
System Requirements:

Installation Steps:
- Download
the installer from the official EnkiSoft website
- Double-click
the installer file
- Follow
the on-screen instructions
- Launch
the application from the desktop shortcut or Start menu
3. Getting Started
Upon first launching Music Tag Editor, you'll be presented
with the main interface. To begin working with music files:
- Click
the "Select Folder" button in the top-left corner
- Browse
to the folder containing your music files
- Click
"OK" to load all compatible music files from that folder
Your music files will appear in the list on the right
side of the application window, displaying their current tag information.
4. Main Interface
The Music Tag Editor interface consists of several key
sections:
Top Menu Bar:
- Select
Folder: Choose a folder containing music files
- Single
File Edit: Switch to single file editing mode
- Bulk
Edit: Switch to bulk editing mode
- Language Selector:
Change the application's interface language
Main Content Area:
- File
List: Displays all music files in the selected folder
- Tag
Editor Panel: Shows editing fields for the selected file(s)
- Search
Bar: Filter files based on text input
Bottom Action Bar:
- Copy Title
from Filename: Extract title information from filenames
- Translate
Titles: Open the translation dialog
- Undo
Last Action: Revert the most recent change
- Donate:
Support the development of the application
5. Single File Editing
To edit tags for a single file:
- Click
the "Single File Edit" button in the top menu
- Select
a file from the list on the right
- Edit
the following fields as needed:
- Title:
The name of the track
- Artist:
The performer of the track
- Album:
The album the track belongs to
- Click "Save
Tags" to apply your changes
The file list will update automatically to reflect your
changes.
6. Bulk Editing
To edit multiple files simultaneously:
- Click the
"Bulk Edit" button in the top menu
- Select
multiple files from the list (use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click)
- Edit
the following fields as needed:
- Artist
(All): Set the same artist for all selected files
- Album
(All): Set the same album for all selected files
- Click
"Save Bulk" to apply your changes to all selected
files
For individual titles, you can edit them directly in
the file list by double-clicking on the Title cell.
7. Translation Features
Music Tag Editor allows you to translate titles between
multiple languages:
- Select
the file(s) you want to translate
- Click
the "Translate Titles" button at the bottom of the
interface
- In
the dialog that appears:
- Choose
the Source Language (the current language of your titles)
- Choose the Target
Language (the language to translate to)
- Click
"OK" to begin translation
The application will use Google Translate services to
translate your titles. An internet connection is required for this
feature.If some titles fail to translate, you'll be prompted to retry.
This may happen due to connection issues or API limitations.
8. File Management
Copying Titles from Filenames
To extract title information from filenames:
- Select
the file(s) you want to process
- Click
the "Copy Title from Filename" button
- The
application will automatically extract title information, removing file
extensions and replacing underscores with spaces
This is particularly useful for files that have descriptive
filenames but missing tag information.
9. Searching and Filtering
To find specific files in your music collection:
- Enter
your search term in the "Search" field
- The file
list will automatically filter to show only matching results
- Click
the "Clear" button next to the search field to reset the filter
The search function looks for matches in all displayed
columns (filename, title, artist, and album).
10. Undo Functionality
Music Tag Editor allows you to undo your most recent
actions:
- To
revert your last change, click the "Undo Last Action"
button
- The
application will restore the previous state of the affected file(s)
Note that only the most recent action can be undone.
Once you perform a new action, the previous one can no longer be
reverted.
11. Language Settings
To change the application's interface language:
- Click
the "Language" dropdown in the top-right corner
- Select
your preferred language from the available options:
- English
- Türkçe
(Turkish)
- Deutsch
(German)
- Français
(French)
- And
more...
The interface will immediately update to reflect your
language choice.
12. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
Application Won't Start
- Ensure
your system meets the minimum requirements
- Try
reinstalling the application
- Check
if any antivirus software is blocking the application
Can't Read or Save Tags
- Make
sure the files aren't read-only
- Verify
you have permission to modify files in the selected folder
- Check
if the files are valid MP3 format with supported ID3 tags
Translation Not Working
- Verify
your internet connection
- Try a
different source/target language combination
- Wait
a few minutes and try again (API rate limits may apply)
File List Is Empty
- Ensure
the selected folder contains MP3 files
- Check
if you have permission to access the folder
